Instructions on enabling referrer
information in firewalls and web browsers:
NOTE: If your firewall or web browser isn't
listed below, then please use your best judgment to modify the instructions to
apply to whatever software you are using. The steps should be similar and the
goal is to allow your firewall or web browser to send REFERRING INFORMATION to
all websites on the internet. If they make you enter a domain you can use
"myfreepaysite.com" but often our content will be located on a different domain
name so your best bet is to allow all domains to view referrers. There is
nothing risky about it.
Note: Norton
Internet Security is particularly difficult to modify. Please
temporarily disable it while you're at our site.
How to enable referrer
information in Opera browser
- Open Opera.
- Click File.
- Click Preferences.
- Click Privacy.
- Verify that Referrer Logging is enabled.
How to enable referrer
information in Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall
2003
- Open your Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall 2003.
- Click Options.
- Click Internet Security (or Personal Firewall).
- Click the Web Content tab.
- Click Add Site. A new site/domain box appears.
- Enter myfreepaysite.com and click OK. That site
name appears in the left frame of the Options window.
- Click the myfreepaysite.com name you just added.
- Click the Global Settings tab. In the "Information about
visited sites" section, uncheck "Use default settings.".
- Click Permit
- Click OK to close the Options window.
How to enable referrer
information in Norton Internet Security, Norton Personal Firewall or
Symantec Desktop Firewall 2002
- Open your Norton/Symantec security program.
- Click Options.
- Click Internet Security (or Personal Firewall).
- Click Advanced Options.
- Click the Web tab.
- Click Add Site. A new site or domain box appears.
- Enter myfreepaysite.com and click OK. That site
name appears in the left frame of the Advanced Options window.
- Click the myfreepaysite.com name you just added.
- Click the Privacy tab.
- Check the "Use these rules for..." box.
- Change the Referrer from "Block" to "Permit."
- Click Apply, and then click OK.
- Click OK to close the Options window.
Note: You may need to clear your cache, delete your cookies, or reboot
your computer to get it to work.
